Earlier in September, we talked about the 2016 Toyota Prius being unveiled in Las Vegas. Pretty exciting news, but yawn-worthy when compared with this.

Bob Old has had his Toyota Prius since 2004. It's a second generation model, and there's nothing particularly sizzling or flashy about it.

So what's so exciting?

The thing has 435,000 miles on it!

That is... a lot of miles. How could he get so much distance on one little hybrid? Has he replaced all the major parts and sunk hundreds of thousands of dollars into repairs?

Nope.

The Toyota Prius we know and love went on sale in 1997 in Japan, and made its worldwide debut in 2000. Since then, the original hybrid has gone on to sell north of 5.2 million units, and account for 65.4% of all hybrids sold by Toyota--a staggering number. Now, it's time to see if they can continue the trend with the 2016 model.

The host of Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson, ws once challenged to take a used Toyota truck, and get it to stop running.

The truck was just an old vehicle they got off a farm, no special modifications or anything done to it. It came with a mechanic, who would do his best to repair the truck after Clarkson was through with it, but he was not allowed to replace any broken parts.

Clarkson drove the truck down a flight of stairs. Unsurprisingly, this had no effect. So he immediately upped the ante…
